Here they are ... the long-awaited writing competition winning entries!

The challenge was to write a story starting with the sentence "I woke up on the floor with a strange cat staring at me..." and the winners are:

Category 1: 7-8 age group:

• Melisand, aged 8 - received a $70 book voucher for A mystery for Dr. Monkey
• Olivia, aged 8 - received a $40 book voucher for The cat crusade!

Category 2: 9-10 age group:

• Oriana, aged 10 - received a $70 voucher for Nine lives
• Bronte, aged 9 - received a $40 voucher for Lost

Category 3: 11-12 age group:

• Persephone, aged 12 - received a $70 voucher for Strange shadow
• Jonathan, aged 12 - received a $40 voucher for The great escape
